Since 2001, Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomique in Ubud, Bali, has been renowned for its pioneering concept of combining ingredients and flavours from the Indonesian archipelago with fine imported ingredients such as foie gras, truffles, and caviar, all using modern French techniques of cooking and presentation. During its 17-year journey, Mozaic has received multiple awards and international recognition as the best restaurant in Indonesia and as one of the best in the world.
In conjunction with Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17, Mozaic will also celebrate its 17th anniversary with a special gala dinner in Ubud. This event will be a gastronomic celebration and, naturally, the theme will be “Red & White”. The evening will begin with an anniversary cocktail party with champagne and canapés in the Mozaic Lounge, which will see guests mingle with a hundred or so hospitality-industry faces from Ubud.
The evening will continue with a choice of a special six- or eight-course tasting menu. Mozaic’s founder, Chef Chris Salans, will be cooking his favourite dishes from the menu over the past 17 years, such as Mozaic Caesar Salad, French Turbot Fillet in Oceanic Broth, Honey-Soy Baked Pork, Foie Gras in a Trio of Mango, Roasted Rack of Lamb, Seasonal Mangosteen Sorbet, and White Chocolate Moelleux, Raspberries and Tapiaco Pearls. Fine wines and wine pairings from Mozaic’s superb collection of some 180 vintages will also be presented for the evening.
Aside from the gastronomic feast, the evening will also feature a music and dance performance by Jasmine Okubo and her troupe in a programme called “Spice Road” and will end with a cake-cutting ceremony.
The Mozaic Anniversary Dinner is priced at Rp1.6 million++ for the six-course dinner and Rp1.9 million++ for the eight-course dinner. Meanwhile, regular wine pairing is priced at Rp650,000++ for six courses and Rp820,000++ for eight courses; premium pairing will cost Rp990,000++ for the six-course dinner and Rp1.2 million++ for the eight-course dinner.
