It’s no secret that high-end liquors are something only a few can take pleasure in, but as it turns out, there are even fewer people who can even take even one sip from some drinks. From the royal tribute to French King Henry IV to the world’s most expensive vodka, these spirits are expensive for a reason. And with that, we have listed five of the most expensive liquors money can buy. Read on and take a sip—if you can afford to.
Isabella’s Islay – US$6.2 million

For those aiming for the highest bidding on this list, Isabella’s Islay is the perfect candidate for you. Covered with more than 8,500 diamonds, almost 300 rubies, and the equivalent of two bars of white gold, it is The Luxury Beverage Company’s gesture of its belief in the future growth of the luxury industry. It is a mark of the delicate craftsmanship of the British Isles, containing the Very Old Single Malt cask-strength Islay whisky that is available for refills. It is, by far, the world’s most expensive whisky on the market.
Billionaire Vodka – US$3.7 million

If whisky is not your thing, then perhaps the world’s most expensive vodka will do for you. Leon Verres wasn’t kidding when he was named this spirit Billionaire Vodka as you would need more than US$3 million in spare cash to enjoy this excellently extravagant beverage. It contains 5 litres of the clearest and smoothest Russian vodka and comes with 3,000 shimmering white diamonds and white faux furs—Verres is an animal rights activist and a supporter of PETA, so he declined using real furs. Even more reason to love this brand.
Tequila Ley .925 Diamante – US$3.5 million

Covered with 2kg of white platinum and 4,100 white diamonds, this piece is said to be the most important jewel made in Mexico since colonial times. It contains premium Extra Añejo, which is made with the best-quality agave at 42 per cent of alcohol by volume, and has remained in barrels for more than seven years.
Henri IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac – US$1.9 million

Stated as the DNA of all cognac, Fernando Altamirano specifically made this as a tribute to King Henry IV of France, who was assassinated in 1610 by François Ravaillac. It is covered in 18k yellow gold plus 4,100 high-quality diamonds, and contains 100cl of Ultra Premium Cognac Grande Champagne, which has been aged in barrels for more than 100 years to produce an alcohol content of 41 per cent. Available in only one bottle worldwide, its creator will donate €500,000 to social causes upon its sale.
Diva Vodka – US$1 million

Vodka scores twice on our list of the most expensive liquors you can buy. Diva Vodka is one of the finest and most expensive vodkas you can find —after Billionaire Vodka, for sure—and with good reason. It has been refined three times to give it an exquisite taste of luxury with every sip: first with ice to bring out the perfect flavour, then through birch charcoal to get the intensity of the flavour, then last, but not least, through sand to remove small traces of impurities that might remain. Divine!
