WHY GO

The city’s new game-changer, Henshin at the Westin Jakarta, is currently the “it” place in town. pioneered by Chef Hajime Kasuga, the Japanese-peruvian restaurant features nikkei cuisine with exotic peruvian flavours.

TATLER TIPS

Henshin’s lounge and dining areas are kept separate from each other, giving visitors the space to either opt for a quiet dining environment or a loud vibrant setting. Chef Hajime cooks up a storm by using the freshest ingredients for his Japanese dishes while giving it an exciting peruvian touch. Similarly, visitors will be enthralled by Henshin’s in-house mixologist’s creations.

• A marriage between sea and land, the Ceviche Classico is born in peru and is a blend of inca, Spanish and Japanese cultures; pair this dish with a glass of the sweet and refreshing Sakura Maru

• A unique combination of peruvian rice with duck, Henshin’s Arroz con Pato is served with a variety of spices and ingredients that are sure to stir one’s palate, especially when had with a glass of issei

• Cooked over the course of several hours, Pachamanca involves a mix of heavily spices meat and vegetables cooked on hot stone; the Hajimei Sansei is a refreshing drink to saturate the spices
