Fairmont Jakarta is delighted to welcome Michelin-starred Chef Akshay Bhardwaj in an exclusive four-hand dinner at the VIEW restaurant from May 10 to 12. The dinner is followed by a Sunday brunch at its Spectrum restaurant on May 13. Chef Akshay Bhardwaj is hailed from the splendid Junoon restaurant in New York, which is the city’s only Indian restaurant to have earned a coveted Michelin star recognition for eight consecutive years.
Chef Akshay started his culinary career as an intern in the kitchen of Junoon and worked his way up the ladder to lead the line chefs and chef tournant. After his assignment at Junoon Dubai, he returned to New York where he became the Junior Sous Chef and eventually the Sous Chef. Along the way, Chef Akshay learned French, Italian and Japanese cooking techniques whilst working under various other chefs. He then applied the skills at Junoon and pushed the boundaries of Indian cuisines.
Junoon, which translated as passion in Hindi, delivers on behalf of the word’s meaning with an authentic, yet elegant and modern take on Indian cuisine. The menu offers a wide range of Indian cuisine that incorporates cooking techniques from different region and states in India. It uses only high quality sustainable ingredients that include different kinds of spices to create remarkable dishes.
Chef Akshay will be teaming up with the VIEW restaurant’s chef Hans Christian for a creative and collaborative four-hand dinner presenting the flavours of modern Indian cuisine elevated to a whole new level. Guests will be able to enjoy their creations through the seven-course dinner. This exclusive dinner is available from May 10 to 12 with priced from Rp 1,088,000++ per person.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, May 13, Chef Akshay will also collaborate with Executive Chef Edi Pancamala and the culinary team of Spectrum restaurant to present an array of Indian buffet brunch. Guests will also be entertained by live music. The special brunch is priced at Rp 625,000++ per person including free-flow of non-alcoholic beverages.
