For the first time, the newly opened contemporary Chinese restaurant JIA at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta is offering a gift set of delectable mooncakes to celebrate the upcoming mid-autumn festival. Under the direction of its Chinese Executive Chef Christopher Chai, the restaurant has prepared a special flavour this year: Baked Bamboo Charcoal with Gold Dust and Pandan filling for the traditional baked mooncake. Meanwhile, this year’s snow-skin mooncakes will feature Snow-Skin Bamboo Charcoal with White Lotus Truffle filling. Yum!
For those who crave for other types of traditionally flavoured baked mooncake, they can happily indulge in White Lotus Paste Plain, Single Yolk or Double Yolk, Red Lotus Paste Plain, Red Lotus with Single Yolk or Double Yolk, Red Bean, Black Sesame, Pandan and Healthy Five Grains. Not only that, JIA will also be showcasing its mini mooncakes, ranging from White Lotus, Red Lotus, Pandan Paste, Snow-Skin Durian Egg Custard, Snow-Skin Green Tea Ganache, Snow-Skin and Snow-Skin Star Anise Chocolate.
This year will also mark a fabulous collaboration between the Shangri-La, Jakarta and renowned Indonesian fashion designer Patrick Owen. The restaurant is set to offer a mid-autumn-themed silk scarf as part of its Lady Mooncake gift set. The limited-edition gift set will not only include the designer’s exclusive silk scarf, which comes in shades of red design printed on a square metre white silk scarf, but it will also feature customised mooncake flavours for your loved ones.
