From April 13 to 15, ABC will be presenting the Ubud Food Festival (UFF) 2018, where over 100 chefs, farmers, restaurateurs, foodpreneurs, social enterprise
Founders and other innovators from 17 countries gather together. The three-day program boasts a range of ticketed and free events. From cooking demonstrations, special events, workshops and food tours to markets, film screenings, live music and in-depth forum discussions.
Everyone is familiar with Ubud’s breathtaking sceneries and probably is familiar that Bali is now one of the world’s top culinary hotspots. Bringing together the culinary masterminds behind five of the island’s most sought-after dining destinations, the food festival will also host a special Best of Bali event at Mozaic, featuring Chris Salans of Mozaic, Daniele Taddeo of GROW Bali, Kevin Cherkas of Cuca, Kieran Morland of Merah Putih, and Mandif Warokka of BLANCO par Mandif. Meanwhile, there will be speakers that will lead the festival’s theme ‘General Inovasi’, such as David Christian of Evoware, Steven Kim of Qraved food app, Helianti Hilman of JAVARA Indonesia, and many more.
However, Indonesian cuisines are the star of the festival and will celebrated in all its diversity at the free Teater Kuliner stage. Audiences can sample one of Bali’s most eminent ceremonial dishes from local culinary expert Gusti Nyoman Darta, and discover underrated Balinese ingredients with I Putu Dodik Sumarjana of Nusantara by Locavore, Pengalaman Rasa’s Gede, and Ayu Gayatri Kresna.
Furthermore to highlight the festival’s partner, ABC, TV Chef Bara Pattiradjawane, collaborating with food writer Petty Elliott and Manadonese celebrity chef Billy Kalangi will be spicing things up. They’ll be demonstrating fiery food pairings with popular ABC products, such as Saos Sambal and Kecap Manis while delving into Indonesia’s rich culinary cultures and the brand’s innovative methods for popularizing Indonesian home cooking.
The annual UFF Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to the family of the late Pak Bondan Winarno, one of Indonesia’s foremost culinary experts, for his outstanding contribution to Indonesian culinary culture.
