Striving to keep Jakarta’s gastronomes satisfied, The Dining Room recently invited Singapore’s award-winning Chef Julien Royer—co-owner of Odette, a three-Michelin- star restaurant serving modern French menus in the city-state. Odette is where Chef Julien’s homage to his beloved grandmother comes to life thanks to his training with world-class chefs, including the legendary French Chef Michael Bras. Specialising in haute French cuisine and fine dining, Odette has blossomed with Julien’s love and respect for his ingredients and the people he is cooking for, with the Michelin-star acclaim also named as the region’s finest among Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019.
During a special collaboration with Chef Julien Royer, Odette and The Dining Room presented a delightful six-course meal complete with wine pairings that pampered discerning taste buds. From the luscious grignotages appetiser to the tasty Mango Tart, each course was artfully handcrafted and deliciously delightful.
The pièce de résistance of the meal was the succulent and tempting Kobe Beef Filet. The savoury and tender meat is glazed with thick miso caramel sauce and is complemented by corn puree and Japanese maitake mushroom, all bursting with contrasting flavours and textures. All in all, the whole experience is that of a meal fit for royalty.
