Opening the Year of the Earth Dog at any of Hotel Mulia's renowned restaurants should start with the merriment of the Lion Dance on February 15 and 16. The Café, Edogin, Orient8, and Table8 will have special lunch and dinner buffet, plus a separate set menu at Table8, on both days. Table8 also serves the festive yee sang salad to bring prosperity from February 8 to March 2, and the adorable koi-shaped nian gao cake to bring luck from February 2 to March 2. More dining offers include a buffet brunch at Orient8 on February 16, nian gao to go, and plenty of Mulia Prosperity Hampers filled with cookies and cakes.

Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta welcomes the arrival of the Year of The Dog with an array of special festive offerings at Jia restaurant. For the Chinese New Year celebration, guests are invited to feast on traditional Chinese set menus crafted by Chinese Executive Chef Christopher Chai. Special dishes include Salmon Yee Sang, Eight-Treasure Pot, Suckling Pig and Deep-Fried King Prawn with Golden Pumpkin Sauce. The set menus are available until February 15.

Start your Chinese New Year’s Celebration at Grand Hyatt Jakarta on February 15. The celebration, which will be held inside its Grand Ballroom, will start with a giant Fatt Choi Lo Hei Yu Sheng and followed by an eight-course set menu created by visiting Chinese Master Chef Lee Wang of Grand Hyatt Shanghai. A fabulous lion dance performance by the four-time world champion lion dance troupe Kong Ha Hong will then wow the crowds. The set menu of the evening includes Barbeque Combination, Double Boiled Pigeon Served with Ginseng Soup with Chinese Herbs and Assorted Chinese Pastries.

Le Méridien Jakarta is ushering in the Year of Dog with a sumptuous buffet dinner, “Flavours of China”, at La Brasserie Restaurant from February 1 to March 4. Chef Roni Gunawan has prepared a mouthwatering line-up of dishes from different regions in China. Available from 6pm to 10:30pm, the dinner buffet is priced at Rp325,000 ++ per person including one non-alcoholic drink.

The Forbidden City Dinner’s menu includes tasty line-up like Guo Tieh Tugu, Sweet Corn Soup, Stir Fried Eggplants and Tofu, Steamed Garupa or Fragrant Tender Duck, Yangzhou Fried Rice, and Deep Fried Vanilla Ice Cream.
